As I walked out of a noisy room (full of both celebration and chaos), my heart was full and I couldn’t help but think of what an honor it had been to see Sierra, Evan and Carolyn meet their baby sister for the first time. It was a whirlwind that came together a little last-minute (that’s how babies arrive, after all), and something I’d never done before.
While looking through the images back at home, the fullness and gratitude grew, and I recognized part of such fullness comes from how much I love their mom. As I studied the way the light came in the room, I was also studying the beauty of a new mom, a dear friend, and I was just so proud of her.
How I care about others, how I love them – I hope that’s what shows up in the work I create.
